Scott had Grandparent's Day at his school today, so Gramma came to celebrate. Scott was able to show his classroom to Gramma and also share yummy donuts and milk with her. We all had a really nice time! After spending some time with Scott, we headed to eat lunch with Brooke. Brooke was also able to show Gramma her classroom. It was lots of fun to spend time with Gramma and the kiddos! Also, notice our toothless girl!!!! I love it when they smile with that big gap....it's so cute! :)

First Day of 1st Grade!
Brooke had a great first day of 1st grade! She loves her teachers and seems to be doing really well. She was a little nervous because she thought 1st grade would be too hard, but she is now realizing that it is not so bad. All of you who know Brooke know that she is terrified of thunderstorms and tornados. She stays glued to "Weather on the Ones" and keeps us updated on the latest weather situations. As luck would have it, we had tornado warnings on Tuesday. Thankfully, her teacher was very reassuring and Brooke made it though just fine. I kept waiting for the phone to ring telling me that she was in a panic, but I was so proud of her for being so brave. Looks like 1st grade is off to a great start! :)

gramma's b'day lunch

gramma came on thurs to visit and brooke, gramma and i went shopping, of course! we had a big time looking in all of the cute gift shops. from there we went to belmont village and had a b'day lunch for gramma. it was delicious and brooke loved being with the "big girls." she is growing up so fast and gramma and i loved being able to take her with us. gramma's b'day is on tues, so happy birthday to you!!! :) 1st day of school

scott started school on wednesday and he is in the farm class.....just like brooke was year-before-last. it's so hard to believe that this will be his last year of pre-k! i remember when brooke started at village and scott was only 7 months old. it just boggles my mind! anyway, he is all boy, as we know......and i tried to warn his teacher, but she quickly figured it out after 3 hours with him on wed. i picked him up and she told me that she said, "scott, we are going to have a 'come to Jesus' tomorrow," and he just laughed at her. :) thankfully, thurs went much more smoothly and he was that good little boy that we all know is in him, but just sometimes does not want to come out. :) anyway, the school year is in full bloom for him and he really seems to like it. i am so thankful for his teacher.....we all really love her and she is such a blessing!!!Sunday, August 10, 2008

we had lots of fun this weekend! the kids had VBS this past week and the theme was "beach party." they had such a great time and were upset when it was over. friday evening, they performed for us and danced/sang their beach party songs. they had beach hats that they wore and that is what they were wearing in the pictures above. they love their hats and insisted on wearing them on saturday morning to watch the men jump from the helicopters. so....that leads us to saturday. we went to the airborne museum and we watched 2 golden knights, 1 black dagger, and two 82nd airborne free-fall team guys jump from a helicopter and land in this tiny area in front of the museum. it was truly mind-boggling how they are able to jump from so incredibly high and land in this small area. after we watched them, we went to cracker barrel and had a fabulous breakfast. yum!!! last night, tyler and i went to a 50th b'day party for our friend and neighbor, dave. it was a lot of fun and tyler got to play bunco for the first time! :)
this week should be filled with more fun adventures as scott starts school. this will be his last year at village and i just can't believe it! how in the world will he be in kindergarten next year? and i can't believe that brooke will be a big first grader! where does the time go?
