under construction

scott singing away

sleepy scott and lucas above...
scott's hat is a little too big for his head...amazing considering the size of his head! :)

scott had his end-of-the-year musical this evening. he was so cute up there smiling and giving us the "thumbs up!" we know that he loved standing next to emma (his girlfriend). the theme of the musical was "kids under construction." they sang "He's still working on me, to make me what i ought to be..." i loved it! how true that song is! scott has been walking around the house singing it. tonight he came up to me and said, "God is the glue that holds us together." made me smile :)! and he sang that song tonight as well. it's so wonderful to see the innocence and love of these precious blessings. oh...to have the faith of these sweet children.
i remember when brooke started at village and scott was only 8 months old. it's so hard to believe that this is his last year of pre-school. he has done so well and i am so proud of him! oh...and if you look closely, you will notice scott's boo-boos on his face. he fell on saturday and scratched up his face pretty badly. then this afternoon he fell and busted his upper lip. he's looking like a boy for sure!!! :)

brooke had her dance recital this past weekend. the theme for the recital was "american dancer." saturday and sunday were busy, busy and she had a great time! she was so sad that dance was over for the year. she is already asking when she can start back to dance! this year she took ballet, tap and jazz. brookie did really well. we were so proud of her! she certainly doesn't get her dance moves from me....she can thank her daddy for that. and i mean that in a good way. :) we love you brookie and think that you are such a wonderful blessing from God!!!

camp lejeune

we love, love the beach! tyler was looking at different military bases with beach access and came across camp lejeune. it is a beautiful marine corps base in jacksonville, nc. there are houses that military personnel and their families are able to rent on onslow beach at camp lejeune. we went there last october and felt the need to visit again now that the weather is getting warmer. so, off we went! we had a fabulous time!!! there were so many pics (and i mean SO MANY) that i made a collage of just of a few of my favorites. click on the collage to enlarge it.
while we were there we ate at texas roadhouse. we never go there when we are at home, but it is our special treat to eat there in jacksonville! another fun thing to do is to catch sand crabs. and there are plenty to catch on onslow beach! we caught one that was so big that he would barely fit in the kids' net. honestly, he scared me! he could have pinched off a toe easily. we had fun catching and releasing the crabs. brooke and i especially enjoyed the releasing part! :) brooke and scott were able to boogeyboard. you may notice the photo of scott in the collage that makes him appear to be walking on his hands in the ocean....he took a nose-dive and was fine, thank goodness. and he says that was his favorite part of the trip. go figure. with scott, the more dangerous, the better. brooke enjoyed collecting pretty shells and rocks, which came in handy at school as she is studying rocks in science class. :) anyway, i could write forever! we had a fabulous time!!!
before i end this, let me say that i did have a wonderful mother's day! tyler and the kids let me sleep in and tyler made a precious scrapbook of the kiddos for me. he and the kids made my day extra-special. and my mom also made it special with her love! i am so blessed!

brooke's violin concert

here is brookie at her violin concert. i wish i had more pics but somehow they got deleted. i have no idea how they did. UGH!!! tyler and i tried and tried to figure it out, but we can't. we even have an external hard drive (since we lost most of our photos when our computer crashed a few weeks ago) and the pics are not even on there! i don't know how this lone photo survived and the others did not. except that God knew that i would be crushed if i had no pics. so i think He protected this one for me! :) i love how He shows Himself to me!!!
anyway....
brookie played "mary had a little lamb" for us during her concert. she really enjoys playing the violin did a wonderful job! we were so proud of her! :) her school is wonderful and being that it is a school of the arts, violin is provided as class. i hope that she continues to enjoy playing. she has always been my "crafty/artsy" girl! i love that...and so many other things...about her!!! :)
