american dancer

brookie in her ballet costume

Posted by Picasa
brooke had her dance recital this past weekend. the theme for the recital was "american dancer." saturday and sunday were busy, busy and she had a great time! she was so sad that dance was over for the year. she is already asking when she can start back to dance! this year she took ballet, tap and jazz. brookie did really well. we were so proud of her! she certainly doesn't get her dance moves from me....she can thank her daddy for that. and i mean that in a good way. :) we love you brookie and think that you are such a wonderful blessing from God!!!

camp lejeune

Posted by Picasa
we love, love the beach! tyler was looking at different military bases with beach access and came across camp lejeune. it is a beautiful marine corps base in jacksonville, nc. there are houses that military personnel and their families are able to rent on onslow beach at camp lejeune. we went there last october and felt the need to visit again now that the weather is getting warmer. so, off we went! we had a fabulous time!!! there were so many pics (and i mean SO MANY) that i made a collage of just of a few of my favorites. click on the collage to enlarge it.
while we were there we ate at texas roadhouse. we never go there when we are at home, but it is our special treat to eat there in jacksonville! another fun thing to do is to catch sand crabs. and there are plenty to catch on onslow beach! we caught one that was so big that he would barely fit in the kids' net. honestly, he scared me! he could have pinched off a toe easily. we had fun catching and releasing the crabs. brooke and i especially enjoyed the releasing part! :) brooke and scott were able to boogeyboard. you may notice the photo of scott in the collage that makes him appear to be walking on his hands in the ocean....he took a nose-dive and was fine, thank goodness. and he says that was his favorite part of the trip. go figure. with scott, the more dangerous, the better. brooke enjoyed collecting pretty shells and rocks, which came in handy at school as she is studying rocks in science class. :) anyway, i could write forever! we had a fabulous time!!!
before i end this, let me say that i did have a wonderful mother's day! tyler and the kids let me sleep in and tyler made a precious scrapbook of the kiddos for me. he and the kids made my day extra-special. and my mom also made it special with her love! i am so blessed!

brooke's violin concert

here is brookie at her violin concert. i wish i had more pics but somehow they got deleted. i have no idea how they did. UGH!!! tyler and i tried and tried to figure it out, but we can't. we even have an external hard drive (since we lost most of our photos when our computer crashed a few weeks ago) and the pics are not even on there! i don't know how this lone photo survived and the others did not. except that God knew that i would be crushed if i had no pics. so i think He protected this one for me! :) i love how He shows Himself to me!!!
anyway....
brookie played "mary had a little lamb" for us during her concert. she really enjoys playing the violin did a wonderful job! we were so proud of her! :) her school is wonderful and being that it is a school of the arts, violin is provided as class. i hope that she continues to enjoy playing. she has always been my "crafty/artsy" girl! i love that...and so many other things...about her!!! :)

blue angels

the family...minus tyler...under an apache
how cool is that???
4 out of the 6 of them
frozen lemonade is the best on a hot day
checking out the airplanes with a little help from daddy
we were able to visit seymore johnson afb and watch the blue angels. they are amazing! we have seen them 3 times and they always leave me speechless. gramma and grampi were able to come with us to watch them. i had so much fun watching their expressions! :) brooke and scott loved having gramma and grampi there because they spoiled them with some inflatable airplanes and even m&m icecream. tyler did a great job capturing some photos. i think he is now 0fficially in love with my new camera! :)

t-ball

daddy and scott on 3rd base
heading to first base...
way to hit the ball big boy!
hoping that a ball will come his way....
he got it! :) he was so excited!!!
scott is playing t-ball and loves, loves it. but that does not surprise me. :) he loves anything to do with sports. he's still addicted to hockey, but t-ball is a close second. his team is coached by tyler's good friend, pat, and piggly-wiggly sponsors the team. that is really neat for me since my next-door neighbors growing up owned piggly-wigglys. we have had such fun watching scott play. we get an added bonus because a few of brookie's friends have siblings who play ball and she is able to meet them at the ballpark and have a little "girl time." all of you girls out there know how important that is! :) anyway, back to scott.... we are into sports for a long time, i think!!! he gets that from his grampi. :)

friends

brooke and brady
brooke, emily, brady and scott
the kiddos at chuy's brady, brooke and an un-cooperative scott
i enjoy making friends and LOVE staying in touch with them. with each move i make i gain more friends. it's wonderful! :) my first move with tyler took me from my hometown of birmingham to san antonio. it was in san antonio that i met michelle. she and i worked in labor and delivery together and formed a friendship that i so cherish. we were pregnant with brooke and brady together which was so neat and exciting! :) thank you, michelle, for staying in touch. i love and miss you! it was great to see you!!! maybe we'll move back to san antonio in a few years. oh the fun we will have!!! :)

san antonio zoo

betty brought umbrellas to ward off the rain....
the kids loved using them to shield themselves from the sun!
at the butterfly garden
that was the kiddos' favorite part
brooke showing the kimono dragon her long tongue and its' abilities
we have a wonderful day at the zoo! the weather cleared up just in time for us to go. betty brought umbrellas to ward off any rain that might come and it worked! we had sunny skies all day. brooke and scott loved seeing all of the animals. i took so many pictures that i could not possibly put them all on here, but here are a few. brooke loved the butterflies. scott loved the crocodiles and the elephant the best. we had a fabulous time with ralph and betty...as always! :)
